We’ve been there. Eyes glowing, heart pounding, standing on our tippytoes at a show as we excitedly wait for our favorite artist or band to appear on stage amidst the fog and flashing lights. We wanted to capture the excitement of having that connection with our musical heroes into a care package that allows you to feel like a VIP wherever you are, or whatever you are going through. SUPERBANDS strives to remind every fan to “stay strong and keep rockin’ on.”

SUPERBANDS, in partnership with youth organizations nationwide, is bringing fans packages complete with merch and surprise goodies relevant to the fandom of their selection to provide a magical VIP-in-a-box experience that they will never forget.

How It Works

Youth organizations partnered with SUPERBANDS will nominate eligible applicants and provide relevant details about the fandom of choice. Candidates are evaluated and selected on a program basis.

SUPERBANDS will coordinate directly with the selected candidates’ favorite stars to build them a custom care package, including crucial mindfulness and mental health resources., as well as self-care products to promote positive mental wellbeing all year long.

Selected fans will receive an unforgettable care package to make them feel like a VIP every day. Youth organization partners will also receive mental wellness resources onsite as well as donated musical instruments and equipment to encourage continued musical self-expression.

FAQs

What are the eligibility criteria to apply for a wish?

Must be enrolled in the programming of a youth organization partner
Must be nominated by program coordinator(s) of youth organization partner
Must be between the ages of 14-25
Must be within the United States - we currently do not ship outside the country
Must have been positively impacted by music, and/or a band (or artist)
Must not have previously received an experience from SUPERBANDS, or any other wish-granting organizations

What if I am not selected?

We strive to make a greater impact beyond our care packages as we recognize that we cannot distribute packages to everyone. SUPERBANDS strives to ensure we are also providing mental wellness resources onsite at our partners’ facilities, provide mental wellness and crisis response training to program staff, and in many cases, donate products that help encourage continued self expression through music onsite (such as musical instruments or song writing classes.)

What exactly is in a package?

Every wish looks a little different - and that’s just a small part of what makes it special!

In some situations, we are able to partner with the artist or band directly to collect the merch content. In cases where we are unable to partner, we curate the goodies ourselves from the talent’s official store. The types of merch in each box will differ, however all packages will also include mental wellbeing subscriptions and self care products from our partners, as well as additional free resources and reference info to help fans take charge of their mental wellbeing.

How does someone get selected?

We review candidates in conjunction with the program coordinator(s) of our youth organization partners and will first filter nominations first based on the applicants meeting all eligibility criteria. Second step of evaluation is feasibility of execution of the wish based on our resources. Selected recipients will not be contacted prior, and will be notified at the time of distribution onsite at our youth organization partners’ facilities.

Why do you include mental health resources in your packages?

Mental health matters. Our goal is to showcase the power of music (and our love for our favorite artists and bands) to promote the importance of prioritizing mindfulness and mental health. With the awareness that not everyone has the resources necessary to seek out help from a therapist, or abilities to utilize digital mental health platform, we include resources in each of our boxes to give every fan a chance to seek out the help they need.
